Abstract
724,268. Magnetrons. RAYTHEON MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 11, 1952, No. 28448/52. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group XL(b)]. A magnetron multi-cavity anode structure consists of a plurality of individual U-shaped elements 16 arranged side by side, the adjacent arms of each pair of adjacent elements interlocking and passing through one another and projecting each into the region of space enclosed by the other. The elements are mounted at their bights on a support, as shown the cylindrical body 14. It is stated that the structure tends to lock in the #-mode. The invention is described with reference to a packaged magnetron having magnetic pole-pieces extending inside the envelope, and the cathode support extending through one pole-piece.
