723,392. Elastic-fluid turbines. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Oct. 10, 1952 [Oct. 10, 1951], No. 25421/52. Class 110 (3). .[Also in Group XXII] A turbine blade comprises an outer metallic portion of aerofoil section, an inner liner conforming to said section and at least one radiating fin which is in the form of a sheet-metal strip 21 extending longitudinally of the blade and bonded, as by welding or brazing, to opposed walls of the liner so as to divide the interior thereof into a plurality of longitudinal channels for the passage of coolant fluid. The corrugated or zigzag strip shown may be replaced by a number of plates as in Fig. 4 (not shown). The liner is formed from a sheet or a tube and the body of the blade is cast therearound; the walls 12; 13 of the blade tapering towards its tip. Specification 723,394 is referred to.
