Abstract
A lead-acid battery Faure or pasted plate is made by casting a grid from a lead-antimony alloy containing 2.5 to 13 per cent antimony, pasting the grid, and annealing by heating to 300-470 DEG F. for 2 to 48 hours and allowing to cool. The grid may be quenched and agehardened before annealing. The lead-antimony alloy may also contain 0.05 to 2.5 per cent arsenic. Alloys containing 6-13 per cent antimony do not require quenching and age-hardening before annealing.
