Abstract

722,105. Mineral-mining apparatus. DEMAC, AKT.-GES. Sept. 18, 1951 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 21933/51. Class 68(1). Mineral-mining apparatus comprises a plough and a kerf-cutting means mounted on a sloping platform connected to said plough. In a preferred embodiment the apparatus is adapted to cut in either direction of travel along a face and comprises two ploughs 1, 2 pivotally connected at 11 to a sloping platform 7 on which is mounted the kerf-cutting means 5. The kerf-cutting means may have one or more straight or bent cutter jibs 6, 12 about which circulate pick-carrying chains. The lower jib 6 extends into the face parallel to the floor and conveys the cuttings up over the inclined platform to eject them into a face conveyer 10. Various other arrangements of jibs and other forms of kerf-cutting means may be used.
