Abstract

721,386. Continuous - - casting machines. BOHLER & CO. AKT.-GES., GEB. May 7, 1952, No. 11508/52. Class 83 (1). In continuous casting, the unavoidable gap between the head of the extracting device and the mould at the commencement of pouring is filled with metal powder or granulated metal, or both. Metal chips may be added to the sealing material. In one example, with a mould having an internal diameter of 100 mm. granulated steel was used containing grains of not less than 1.5 mm. in diameter.
