Abstract

720,999. Lampshades. WIIG, A., and THOMSTAD, M. V. June 18, 1953 [Dec. 22. 1952]. No, 16917/53. Class 75 (2). A shade assembly for tubular light sources comprises a shade 2 having at least one H-shaped clamp adapted to embrace at least 200 degrees of the circumference of the lamp tube 1, at least the intermediate part 4 of the clamp being springy. The upper parts of the side members 5 of the clamp embrace the lamp and the lower ends 8 of the clamp have teeth which are directed inwardly towards one another and engage grooves 11 formed on two opposite sides of an inwardly directed, solid or apertured rib 10 integral with and extending longitudinally of the shade. The main part of the shade is formed by two blades 14 of quarter-cylindrical shape joined to opposite sides of the rib. The portions 13 adjoining the rib have apertures. The outside surfaces of the blades have parallel refracting ribs. The clamps may be made of metal or of transparent thermoplastic material.
