720,708. Cutting plaster bandages. SCINTILLA, Ltd. Feb. 13, 1953 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 4144/53. Class 81 (2). An appliance for cutting plaster bandages comprises a tool which performs both shearing and sawing actions. The tool 2 is oscillated vertically by an electric motor, not shown, and carries saw teeth 3 on its front edge and a shearing edge 4 on its lower end, the latter cooperating with a corresponding edge 6 on the foot 5. The saw teeth 3 are appreciably wider than the rear part of the blade 2 and the support 8 for the foot, to facilitate guiding the appliance. The teeth are so shaped as to perform their cutting action on the return stroke of the tool.
