Abstract
In a method of preparation of anti-corrosive priming paints quinoidine is taken up from an alcoholic solution thereof by a dispersion medium of a large-pore type, such as large-pored silica gel, bentonite or colloidal clay, and the quinoidine-charged dispersion medium is then dried and incorporated in a normal priming paint together with a solvent both for the quinoidine and the paint. The solvent may be butyl alcohol or diacetone alcohol. The dried quinoidine-saturated gel is preferably added in an amount of 5 per cent. by weight of the paint. The paint may include a reducing agent, such as diphenylamine, micro-porous silica gel, phosphates, chromates and lead compounds, such as lead dicyanamide.
