Abstract

A catamenial tampon comprises a mass of absorbent cotton having a density in the range 0.31 to 0.58 grammes per c.c. of overall volume and containing at least 1/4 per cent. of a compression-stabilizing agent of the class consisting of water-insoluble hydrophilic alcohols, glycol ethers and organic wetting agents.
