719,524. Clocks; changing signs. JACKSON'S CINE EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Nov. 26, 1952, No. 29965/52. Classes 3(1) and 139 Time-indicating means for a clock comprises in combination a screen having a marginal part which is mainly opaque but is provided with two rows of translucent numerals representing respectively the minutes of an hour and a succession of hours, a series of lamps, one for each numeral, associated with each row of numerals and a rotary selector switch for feeding current to the lamps in the first row in succession one at a time and a second rotary selection switch for feeding current to the lamps of the second row in succession one at a time. A first rotary selector switch comprising a spindle 37, Fig. 4, rotated by an electric or clockwork motor, a spring wiper arm 43 and sixty contacts 40 receives current from a supply 46 through a transformer 49. The contacts 40 are each connected to a lamp 29 except the sixtieth contact 40a which is connected to a solenoid coil 54 the armature 57 of which is connected to a pawl 59 which upon energization of the solenoid steps-on a ratchet 61 which carries a wiper arm 67 which moves over a series of twelve contacts 65 each connected to a lamp 24. The lamps 24, 29 are each located in individual compartments or cells 21, Fig. 3, behind a translucent minute or hour numeral 20, 19, Fig. 1, in the marginal edge of a screen 15 on the central part of which an apparatus 16 may project still or moving pictures.
