Abstract
719,398. Indicating-apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., BOWTELL, J. N., and McKEAG, A. H. Dec. 17, 1952 [Dec. 17, 1951]. No. 29506/51. Class 106 (4). [Also in Group XL(a)] An instrument dial comprises a slotted opaque disc 7, e.g. of aluminium rotating over a glass sheet 4 whichis one face of an electroluminescent panel 12, 13. 14 (see Group XL(a)). Scale markings 10 of dark material are formed on the panel and the slot in the disc 7 which acts as the pointer may have an auxiliary pointer. The markings 10 may be made as luminous regions of a non-luminous background by masking, and the slot may be covered by a transparent or translucent material of colour contrasting with that of the opaque disc, and preferably of the same colour as the luminescence.
