In an end fitting for corrugated metallic hose in which end corrugations are trapped and crushed between parts of the fitting, an outer part of the fitting has internal teeth which engage uncrushed corrugations of the hose. In one form a sleeve 3 has a coarse thread 6 whereby it is screwed on to the helically corrugated hose 7. A coupling body 16 is screwed at 5 into the sleeve, and locked by a grub-screw 22. Corrugations 14 are crushed between a face 15 of the sleeve and a cup-leather packing 12 against the face 18 of the body which has a tubular extension 17 projecting into the hose. The covering 2 of the hose is clamped on a reduced end of the sleeve by a swage ring 10. The body has a coupling nut 23 swivellingly mounted thereon by an annular key 24, and a conical seat 27. For screwing the body into the sleeve a tool 34 is adapted to screw into the nut until a conical shoulder 35 on its shank 36 is forced against the seat 27. In another form a sleeve 3', Fig. 2, having a coarse thread engaging the hose is separate from a sleeve 3" screwing on to the body 16'. The sleeve 3" has an integral swage ring 10<SP>1</SP> whereby it is secured to the sleeve 3<SP>1</SP> and clamps the hose covering 2. The insert portion 17<SP>1</SP> of the body may have a coarse thread to engage the hose. The sleeve 3<SP>1</SP> may be split to facilitate assembly particularly when used with a hose having annular instead of helical corrugations. Instead of a swage ring for contracting the sleeve 3<SP>1</SP>, the sleeves may have co-operating tapered surfaces.
