Abstract

718,215. Flying toys. BROWN, C. A. May 21, 1953 [June 19, 1952], No. 15514/52. Class 132(3) A boomerang comprises two or more substantially flat arms secured together with their flats in substantially parallel planes and their longitudinal axes crossing one another, the arms being adjustable relative to one another parallel to the planes of their flats to shift the point of crossing of said axes along one or both arms and thereby vary the configuration of the boomerang as a whole. Each arm 11, 12 is tapered toward its leading and trailing edges, Fig. 4, and is slightly curved lengthwise. The arms may be of balsa wood and are secured together by a rubber band 15. The tips of the arms may be provided whistle, bell, or other sound-making attachments, and the arms may have silk or thin sheet plastic secured between them to make the boomerang simulate a " flying saucer."
