Abstract

715,291. Heat-treating parts of the body. JAROLUX AKT.-GES. April 1, 1952 [Nov. 19, 1951; March 22, 1952], No. 8288/52. Class 81(2) Apparatus for heat-treating parts of the body comprises a flexible casing to enclose the part of the body to be treated, a pipe for admitting hot air connected to the casing to form an entry port having an axis radial to the longitudinal axis of the casing, deheating means for directing air along the inner wall of the casing being dispersed within the casing adjacent the entry port. The flexible casing 1 is provided with an opening or openings to permit the passage of a limb and has an air pipe 4 opening into it. In the air pipe 4 a wire spiral is provided. The air pipe 4 enters the casing 1 radially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the casing 1, a deflecting member 5 being disposed across the entry port for the pipe 4 to direct air along the inner wall of the casing 1. Outlet apertures 6 for the escape of hot air are provided. In a construction to be used as a hair dryer, Fig. 5, an air pipe 19 directs air into a portion of the casing 17 which is separated from the portion receiving the head by a partition 21 having holes 22 near its periphery. Air outlet openings 23 are provided near the opening which receives the head.
