Abstract

714,152. Typewriters. JARDINE, Ltd., J., and HARDY, F. S. Feb. 21, 1952 [Dec. 12, 1950], No. 30298/50. Class 100 (4) Type-lever actions.-A type-lever mechanism for a typewriter comprises a sub-lever D which is pivoted at its lower end to a key-lever E, passes through a slot H in a sub-lever segment J, has a cam shaped edge K which is held in engagement with a roller L in the slot H and is angularly moved about its pivot to operate the typelever A by depressing the key-lever, the downward movement of which is arrested by the typelever A engaging a platen A1. The cam K is shaped so as to provide increasing speed to the type-lever as it moves up to the platen, and may be formed with a projection at its lower end to limit the return movement of the sub-lever D. Specification 683,208 is referred to. Key-actions.-A touch regulating mechanism is described which is identical to that described in Specification 683,208.
