Abstract
713,202. Locking rotary elements. ROTHERHAM & SONS, Ltd. July 7, 1952 [Nov. 28, 1951]. No. 27880/51. Class 80 (4) A device for preventing reverse rotation of a rotatable member of an instrument, such as a clockwork driven time delay, comprises a spring- pressed pivoted pawl 14 having at least two teeth co-operating with fine, closely spaced teeth 25 on a wheel 24. The opposite flanks of the teeth 25 are made equal and the point of engagement of the pawl with the wheel 24 to prevent clockwise rotation thereof is arranged to be closely in front of a line joining the centres of the wheel and the pivot of the pawl. The toothed end of the pawl is preferably convex.
