Classes 73 and 146(1) [Also in Group XVII] A label storing apparatus com. prises a container and a plurality of separate pockets each comprising a folded sheet hav. ing in one pane: thereof cut-out tongues forming s lodgement in which a pack of labels can be held the pockets being stacked in the container and carrying identifying or signalling tabs positioned on the pockets so as tc stand proud thereof in the container. The 'container 1 houses a plurality of the label holding pockets with their tabs 10 in staggered relation as shown and held in position by follower 3, the pockets being in pairs facing each other. so that the tongues do not foul each other. Each pocket comprises a strip of stout paper or cardboard folded at 4 forming two panels 5, 6, of unequal length, the longer panel 5 having a projecting tab 10 and arcuate cuts forming tongues 7, 8 to hold opposite edges of a stack of labels 9. The panel 6 is dimensioned to fit under the upper tongue 8 so as to hold the labels securely. Locking followers. The follower 3 comprises a central panel 12, of the width of the container 1, and wing portions 13, 14 having their lower edges inclined upwardly and being provided with parallel crease lines 16 at right angles to the lower edge, so that panel 12 slopes forwardly in the container. By varying the crease lines used, the position of the follower can be altered, the ends 18 pressing against the back wall of the container. Labels. The labels 9 may be marked in shilling stages as shown in Fig. 2, and the pence be marked, as shown in Fig. 6, on labels provided with score lines 19 or perforations, so that a segment can be detached and moistened for attachment to the appropriate shilling label.
