Abstract

711,026. Splitting carrots &c. BAYFLEET, Ltd. Nov. 13, 1952, No. 28692/52. Class 5 (1) Carrots &c. are cut longitudinally by passing them vertically down a guide tube 16a to three or more rotated cutting d'scs 10, which draw the carrot down while slitting it. The tube 16a is provided with spring blades 17 to guide centrally various thicknesses of carrots. The discs 10 are intergeared to be rotated from a single drive shaft 11a. The discs have bevelled edges to exercise a splitting action.
