710,752. Jet-propulsion plant COMPAGNIE ELECTROMECANIQUE. Aug. 31, 1950 [Feb. 20, 1950], No. 21500/50. Class 110(3) In a turbo-jet engine gas discharge nozzle comprising an annular auxiliary gas discharge nozzle 6 disposed concentrically around a main discharge nozzle 5 having reheat burners 4 therein. the inlet of the 'nozzle 6 is disposed between the cutlet of the turbine and the reheat burners and controlled by valve means 8 disposed upstream thereof to open said inlet when the reheat burners are ignited, the outlet of the nozzle 6 being disposed in the transverse plane of the outlet of the nozzle 5. The valve 8 is operated through arms 9 and a tube 10 by an oil operated relay 11; the actuation of the valve and the supply of fuel to the burners 4 being controlled by a governor. Cooling air is fed through struts 3, a cone 2, the members 9. 10 and ports 13 into either the nozzle 5 or the nozzle 6 according to the setting of the valve 8. The nozzle 6 may be subdivided into a plurality of segmental sections.
