Abstract

A textile size comprises an aqueous solution of gelatine containing from 0.5 to 30, preferably from 2 to 6, per cent. by weight of at least one salt of a saturated aliphatic hydroxyamine, containing up to 6 carbon atoms in its molecule, with sulphuric acid, nitric acid or a lower saturated aliphatic carboxylic acid, e.g. acetic acid. The hydroxyamine may be mono-, di- or triethanolamine or dimethylaminoethanol.
