Abstract

<PICT:0709599/IV (a)/1> A spinneret has at least 150 spinning orifices arranged in radial rows of at least two kinds, the rows of one kind, 17, extending from close to the centre to close to the periphery of the face, and the innermost orifices of a second kind 18, being at a common distance from the centre and spaced further therefrom than the innermost orifices of the first kind, each pair of adjacent rows of the first kind being separated by a plurality of other rows including at least one row of the second kind. There may be more than 5,000 orifices and a third kind of row, 19, whose innermost orifices are spaced still further from the centre than those of the second kind, the rows being symmetrically disposed. Two orifices 21 may be disposed in line with the rows 19 centrally between the rows 17 and nearer the centre than the innermost apertures of rows 18.
