Class 51 (1) In a pulverulent-fuel cyclone furnace having a peripheral, refractory, cooled wall 2 the bottom of which is inclined downwardly towards a slag outlet 11, the slag discharging in molten form, the mixture of primary air and fuel and the secondary air are directed towards the surface of an imaginary cylinder of smaller diameter than the primary furnace chamber. Primary air and fuel is applied at 4 and secondary air at 5, 7, 8 and 9.
