Abstract
706,416. Spouts for hollow-ware. CORMACK, W. A. Sept. 18, 1951, No. 309/51. Class 66 In order to prevent dripping, the spout of a tea or coffee pot is shaped so that the direction of the spout axis at the mouth of the spout is coincident with a datum axis lying in the same vertical plane and inclined at an angle of thirty degrees to the base of the vessel, the curvature of the spout axis being determined by reference to ordinates from the datum axis, as shown in Fig. 2. The mouth of the spout has a polished bore and a sharply defined end surface. A liner may be fitted into, or over, the spout to provide the necessary mouth. The cross section of the spout may be triangular or circular.
