Abstract

Objects, other than those of zinc or an alloy thereof, are coated with polyvinyl chloride and then heated at above 150 DEG C. until decomposition of the polyvinyl chloride sets in. The coating may be applied in solution or paste form and softeners and pigments may also be present. In an example, an aluminium rod coated with polyvinyl chloride paste is heated at 160 DEG C. for 8 hours, or at 190 DEG C. for two hours.
