Abstract
705,348. Drawers for filing cabinets. KABLE, B. N. May 20,1952 [May 21,1951; March 17, 1952; May 10, 1952], No. 12775/52. Class 52(1) A compartment a forming part of a filing cabinet, e.g. for gramophone records, documents &c., has a drawer d sliding horizontally therein and tiltable when open to a vertical position, the drawer front b having a plate i hinged to its top edge so as to swing forwardly, the movement being limited by stays k, and the inner face of the drawer front b being inclined to separate the edges of the records &c. The drawer has a handle c and its sides are rounded at the rear to allow the tilting movement. A hook e at the bottom of the drawer engages a projection f at the front of the compartment to form a hinge, and a stop g at the rear of the drawer engages an abutment h to limit the tilt. In a modification the drawer is hinged to a sliding member in two parts connected by a pin for complete withdrawal of the drawer. The plate i may have a transparent pocket for a list of contents.
