Class 100 (2) A method of fixing an electrotype on a base is characterized in that an impression of an electrotype is made on a transparent carrier (e.g. a cellulose acetate sheet) after which at least one square corner is cut on the image carrier, the carrier being subsequently arranged against or upon a transparent plate 6 in such a manner that the image is turned away from the plate and the square corner regis'ers with a square corner on the plate. The electrotype is then fixed against the plate with the image facing the copy, during-which the image on the electrotype is brought into register with the aid of a mirror 7 arranged behind or underneath the plate 6, after which registering the base is so fixed by adhesive against the back of the electrotype that a square corner of the base fits exactly in the square corner of the plate in which also the image carrier has its square corner fitted. The apparatus for carrying out the registration comprises a chest 1 on which is mounted the plate 6, which may be hinged, the mirror 7, which may also be hinged, and a tubular lamp 8. The back 4 of the chest has compartments 5 in which furniture is stored. The invention is applied to the registration of multi-colour printing plates. The square cut corners are obtained by laying the transparent carriers one upon the other in register on a zinc plate under the mirror and cutting the corners with a knife.
