Abstract
703,582. Ring-and-roller presses. KRUPP STAHLBAU RHEINHAUSEN, F. Dec. 13, 1951 [Dec. 23, 1950], No. 29198/51. Class 87 (2) Either the ring 1 or the roller 11, or both, of a ring-and-roller pressing machine, are resiliently mounted in such a manner that movement can take place in the direction of greatest pressure whilst the dimensions of the entrance 17 to the pressing gap remain constant. The press ring 1 is supported on two rollers 3, 4, the roller 3 being rigidly journalled in the frame and the roller 4 journalled in a pivoted lever 6. The free end of the lever 6 is supported by a plate 7, which can yield under excess pressure. The plate is supported on the short arm 8 of a lever, the long arm 9 of which bears against a spring 10. The eccentric roller 11 is so disposed that the narrowest part of the gap is opposite the yielding roller 4. The feeding device consists of a feeding-wheel 13 and a downwardly extending spur 12 forming a feed channel 14. A modification is described in which both ring and roller have peripheral teeth 21 and are driven from a common drive. A string of briquettes indented on both sides is produced. A number of strings of bricks arranged side by side may be produced.
