702,137. Regenerative heat-exchange material. AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROMS ANGTURBIN. May 23, 1950 [May 25, 1949; Jan. 13, 1650], No. 12868/50. Class 64(1) In a regenerative heat-exchanger having a pack of channel-forming elements' arranged in the flow path of gaseous media passing through the apparatus, at least every second element of the pack consists of wire netting preferably of coarse mesh and of relatively thick wire (e.g. 1.5 to 2 mm. dia.). In the preferred forms, either wire nettings and plate elements alternate through the pack, or the pack comprises a plurality of wire nettings. In Fig. 1, smooth or undulating plates 10 alternate with nettings 14 and are provided with spacing elements 12 either integral with the plates 10 or comprising wires, angle-irons or other elements welded thereto. In the constructions em-. ploying only wire nettings, alternate nettings are similarly provided with spacing elements comprising pressed-out ridges 12, Fig. 4, or wires 20, Fig. 5, welded thereto on both ' sides. Alternatively, spacing wires may be welded to one side of each netting of the pack. Specification 702,136 is referred to.
