Abstract

701,804. Endless conveyers. KING, Ltd., G. W. Feb. 15, 1952 [Feb. 15, 1951], No. 3727/51. Class 78 (1) Means for loading or unloading a ship by means of an elevator in the hold comprises pairs of parallel chains 27, 28 carrying grid like trays 22 the prongs of which are adapted to project between horizontal parallel feeding or unloading conveyer bands 12 which deliver to or take the load from the trays 22. The conveyers 12 are movable horizontally in a framework 15 for projection between the prongs of the trays and the conveyers can be driven in either direction. The conveyers pass round stationary tensioning rollers 16 to 21. A conveyer 11 is provided and a conveyer 10 adjacent the quay. The prongs of the trays have end rollers 24 and rollers 25 moving in vertical guides to maintain the trays horizontal, a spring flap being provided at the junctions of the guides and a buffer 30 at the top.
