700,486. Vehicle fittings for loading and unloading. KROLL, B. Nov. 28, 1951, No. 27934/51. Class 78 (4). A device whereby a tank or other vessel can be supported either on the platform of a vehicle or on the ground comprises a frame carrying the tank with lifting means bearing on the platform of the vehicle for raising both the frame and the tank and folding legs adjustably movable to ground engaging position to support the frame and tank on the ground. As shown in Fig. 1, a tank 1 is secured by means 8 to transverse, shaped, supporting members 3 carried on uprights 6 on a rectangular frame 4, 5 which bears at each end on a jack 10 on the vehicle chassis 2 and operable to raise the tank and frame above the chassis. The tubular transverse frame members 5 support extensible and rotatable lateral arms supporting at right angles thereto telescopic legs 13, 14 adjustable by bolts 15 so that when rotated to ground engaging position the feet 17 contact the ground. When the jacks are lowered, the frame and tank are supported on the legs and the vehicle can be driven awav. The rear legs have outward bracing brackets 16 between the lateral members and members 13 and the front legs have inward bracing brackets so that when the legs are folded on to the vehicle they are not in alignment. The jacks 10 may be replaced by cams connected to frame members 5 and contacting the chassis and rotatable by crank and handle means through a right angle to raise the frame and tank. The frame and chassis are locked together for transport by bolts 18.
