Abstract

699,466. Vehicle windows. WILLYS-. OVERLAND MOTORS. Inc. Feb. 12, 1951 [Feb. 10, 1950], No. 3346/51. Class 20(iii) [Also in Group XXV] A vehicle window comprises horizontal and vertical frame members 30, 31 and 32. a fixed panel 27 positioned by a resilient glazing strip 38, which is partly of channel section, Fig. 3, and partly of the section shown in Fig. 5, and a sliding panel 28 mounted in a felt lined channel strip 55, and sealing in its closed position against a lip 50 of the strip 38, the construction being completed by moulding strips 60 which are secured by screws 63 and 66 to tongues 65 struck out of the frame member 31 and to spaced clips 68 respectively. The strip 38 is provided with metal reinforcements 49 and the lower horizontal portion of the channel strip 55 has a series of spaced holes to allow water collecting therein to run to a trough 74 and a drainpipe 77. A felt draught excluder strip 80, Fig. 5, is secured on the fixed panel 27 in contact with the sliding panel 28 and a locking device 87 mounted on the upper moulding strip 60 and comprising a spring- pressed plunger 94 adapted to engage when the sliding panel is closed in a dishedmember 102 secured to the fixed panel 27 prevents opening of the window from the outside,
