Abstract

698,893. Toy rail track gauges. TAYLOR, W. B. Sept. 20, 1951 [Oct. 17, 1950], No. 25327/50. Class 132 (iii). A flexible jig for maintaining a series of sleepers in correct alignment and spacing when securing track rails thereto comprises a plurality of links each consisting of three box like portions which are connected by webs 12. The central portion 11 has a tongue 15 and a recess 16 and the outer portions 10 are slotted at 13 to receive a sleeper 14 as a snug fit. Prongs 17 are punched out of the webs 12 and permit the link to be fixed to a receiving board or to be located within the rails of a track which is to be copied. A guide for the edges of the links may be used, or to form a curve, the lateral ends of the links are of such a width that by bringing adjacent corners of the links together a curve of suitable radius is formed. Specification 698,888 is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification, the link joining means comprise an inverted T-piece projecting downwardly and engageable in a slot. Each link has four prongs.
