Abstract

In preparing a packing mass for a poultice, mineral mud, preferably fango or slime, is mixed with paraffin having a melting point-between 50 and 68 DEG C. and, while heated, the mass is further mixed with inorganic compounds which do not separate out, such as magnesium oxide, magnesium carbonate, or kieselguhr. In a preferred mixture one part by weight of fango is heated with two parts of paraffin having a melting point between 56 and 58 DEG C. and between 8 and 15 per cent by weight of magnesium oxide are added.
