698,041. Making beads. PAGE, H. H. F. Feb. 7, 1951 [Nov. 23, 1949; Nov. 22, 1950]. Nos. 30040/49 and 2906/51. Class 141. [Also in Group XV] A child's playbead comprises two hemispherical parts 1, 2 with sleeves 3, 4 which are screw threaded at spigot and socket portions 7, 8 respectively. The depth of socket 8 is such that when the sleeves 3, 4 are screwed together spigot 7 is not screwed completely into socket 8 and complementary cut away edges 5, 6 of parts 1, 2 are pulled hard together and form a watertight seal. The bead walls are thickened up as indicated at 12 and a pea may be enclosed in the bead to provide a rattle. The ends of the sleeves 3, 4 also interfit in a watertight manner and may have adhesive applied to prevent separa.- tion of the parts 1, 2. The bead may be made from a thermo setting plastic material such as urea formaldehyde.
