Abstract

696,470. Brake control mechanism. BOEING AIRPLANE CO. Feb. 26, 1951, No. 1797/53. Divided out of 696,446. Drawings to Specification. Class 103 (i). The invention is concerned with an inertia flywheel controlled device for preventing wheel skidding, particularly in heavy aircraft, by automatic release of the brake pressure. The detail description and drawings are the same as those for Specification 696,446. The claims are, however, directed particularly to the form of the slipping coupling means used whereby the torque transmitted from the wheel rotated member to the inertia flywheel is greater than that transmitted from the flywheel to a skidsensing member which acts to close contacts energizing electrical circuits which operate to relieve the braking pressure. Specification 674,506 also is referred to.
