Abstract

695,693. Pneumatic conveyers. WEIST, H. May 16, 1952. [June 5, 1951] No. 12413/52. Class 78 (i). Abrasion of the outer wall of a bend for a pneumatic conveyer used. for packing material in underground mining is prevented by lining it with replaceable segments 5, 6, 7 of hard wearing material which are retained by screws 8 in such a position that a channel 9 for compressed air is provided between their outer faces and the outer wall and channels 10, 11 between them. The segments 5, 6, 7 retain detachable lining members 12 against the inner wall of the bend. Clearing openings are provided having closures 16 secured by wedges. Replaceable ring-shaped liners 14, 15 are provided in the inlet 1 and outlet 2.
