Abstract

693,758. Wheeled carriers. PETER PAN MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and WHITTINGHAM, J. May 24, 1951 [May 24, 1950], No. 12968/50. Class 108 (i). A carrier for golf bags &c. has a longitudinal chassis tube 1 to which is pivoted a cranked handle 13 connected by toggle links 11 and 12 to a sleeve 6 sliding on the tube. The sleeve is connected by hinged parallel links 5, 5a to wheel supports 4, and pivoted links 7 also connected to the supports are hinged at their other ends to the tube 1. Arms 10 pivoted to the supports mount wheels 3, and links 16 are pivoted as shown to the arms 10 and a cross member 15 on the tube 1. The carrier may be collapsed from the Fig. 1 operative position by moving the handle 13 upwardly over the tube 1, as in Fig. 2, to actuate the links 11, 12 to move the sleeve 6 and draw the wheels inwardly. The links 16 are adapted to move the wheels upwardly simultaneously with the inward movement, and a handle locking pin 14 is provided.
