Abstract

693,637. Pipe joints. HIGH - PRESSURE COMPONENTS, Ltd. Oct. 4, 1951 [Nov. 2, 1950]. No. 26777/50. Class 99 (i). In a joint in which a flared pipe end 3 is clamped between conical surfaces of a spigot 4 and a coupling nut 2, a split sleeve 1 being interposed between the pipe and nut, the sleeve has a cylindrical part extending beyond the nut and having an annular recess housing a rubber ring 5 which embraces the pipe to damp out vibrations. The ring may be slit to correspond with slits in the sleeve, and may be bonded into the recess. The spigot 4 may have a cylindrical extension 8 coterminous with the sleeve.
