Abstract

691,724. Discharge converters. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Feb. 15, 1952 [Feb. 23, 1951], No. 4116/52. Class 39(i). The metal sleeve i for guiding the arc, protecting the anode or supporting the control grid is suspended from the two part anode insulator b<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>2</SP> by a metal ring f, a groove g in which houses balls h introduced through perforations k in the sleeve, the balls being retained by a ring m supported in the sleeve rim and covering the perforations in the sleeve. The balls may be guided into the groove by a hollow cylinder carrying axial holes. The rim of the ring m may be bent outwardly at several points to project into the openings k, and the ring may be pulled into position by hooks engaging with holes n.
