Abstract

691,146. Lattice-work masts: preformed substructures for masts. BEATTY BROS., Ltd. March 5, 1951 [Sept. 28, 1950], No. 5205/51. Classes 20(i) and 20(ii) In a mast comprising a number of superposed units A ... D, each unit consists of three girders 16 having horizontal girts 17 with ledges 18, the lower ends of the girders 16 of one unit fitting within the upper ends-of the girders of the next lower unit and resting on the ledge 18 of the topmost girt 17 where are are secured by bolts 19. Plates 20, for the attachment of guys 29, and centering plates 25 'are attachable to any girt 17 and have central holes 24, 26 respectively to accommodate the shank of a television antenna. The lower unit A is bolted at 27 to brackets 12 fixed to a post 10 pivoted at 15 to a base plate 13. The girders 16 are of angle iron and the girts 19 are welded to them.
