Abstract

690,724. Potato &c. peelers. HUGHES, W. G. Jan. 10, 1952 [March 14, 1951], No. 6091/51. Class 28 (ii). In a potato or apple &c. peeler the slot e, between the fixed (or removable) cutting edge d and the body a, is tapered so that the thickness of skin cut off may be varied by using different parts of the cutting edge. The slot may taper towards the handle b or reversely. The peeler may have two cutting edges d, Fig. 6, for left or right hand peeling such edges being pressed out of the metal of the arcuate or angular body a. In Fig. 4 a single piece c has been struck out to provide two cutting edges d. The cutter may be removable or adjustable on the body.
