Abstract
The invention comprises alkyl riboflavin phosphates, the alkyl group or groups whereof each contain not more than five carbon atoms e.g. mono and diethyl and mono and dimethyl riboflavin phosphates and their preparation by reacting riboflavin with an alkyl chlorophosphate. The reaction may be effected by adding one or two mols. of an alkanol to phosphorus oxychloride with the subsequent addition of riboflavin. The alkyl riboflavin phosphate may be hydrolysed to riboflavin phosphate, e.g. with aqueous hydrochloric acid.
