An adjustable folding clasp for a bracelet comprises a part a<SP>1</SP> slidable within longitudinal guide flanges f along the sides of an outer part a and formed with a central longitudinal gap k with rows of ratchet teeth m along part of each edge of the gap, these teeth being arranged to cooperate with pawls o provided one on each limb n of a resilient bifurcated member that is situated between the slidable parts a, a', the engagement and disengagement of the pawls o and ratchet teeth m being controlled by a helical cam-like edge r provided by a gap in the end of a link c that is pivoted on a pin h at the end of the part a, the pawls being disengaged when the link c is opened out as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The housing for the bifurcated member with limbs n is provided by a central longitudinal channel e, Fig. 6, in the bottom of the part a, below the gapped bottom of the part a' and the closed end of the bifurcated member is anchored to the part a by a projection y on the latter. The projection y also serves to prevent separation of the parts a and a<SP>1</SP>. A clasp d pivotally connected between the outer end of the link c and one end of the bracelet b is provided with longitudinal side flanges u so that when the link c is closed or folded over the parts a, a' and the clasp d is also closed over the link c the flanges u grip the flanges f of the part a when the clasp is snapped into position. The other end of the bracelet b is connected by a pivot pin i to the outer end of the part a<SP>1</SP>. A cover plate t connected at one end to the pivot pin i is preferably provided to cover the ratchet teeth.
