Abstract

687,763. Automatic exchange systems. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 3, 1951 [May 6, 1950], No. 10394/51. Class 40 (iv). A relay chain circuit KS1 for allotting finders or other common apparatus is provided with a differential relay Y having one winding in series with the chain circuit so that it is operated by a start potential only if the circuit is incomplete. As shown, two groups of subscribers are served by two groups of primary finders, each acting as a reserve for the other, with allotting circuits KS1, KS2 and differential relays Y, Z. In normal operation, a start potential energizes relay IB of the allotted primary finder. This relay connects up the rotary magnet D and remains locked until the primary finder is found by a secondary finder. When the calling line is found, T energizes and operates switching relay IG which extends the allotting circuit. If all finders of a group are busy, or if the allotting circuit is faulty, the operation of Y or Z extends a start potential to the allotting circuit of the other group, and in the latter case makes a circuit for an alarm relay AL, this circuit being opened in the former case by the relays T of the busy finders.
