686,176. Mounting delivery spindles. SEETRU PRODUCTS, Ltd. Dec. 15, 1950 [Sept. 23, 1949], No. 24467/49. Class 120(ii) [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXII] A swinging arm mounting for the spindle (not shown) of a spinning machine, comprises cup-shaped or part-spherical rubber bodies 22 at each end of the swinging axis 3 of the arm 2. When the arm 2 is swung from a neutral position, it is returned by resilient deformation of the rubber bodies. The arm 2, which has a ring-shaped spindlesupporting portion 2<SP>1</SP>, is formed at each end of a pivot portion 3, with sockets 24. Spigots 23 have a push-fit in the sockets 24 and are prevented from rotating by a pin-andsocket connection 25, 26. Each rubber cup 22 is bonded between its respective spigot and a thimble 17 which is prevented from turning in an outer housing 4, 5 by a rib- and-slot connection 20, 21. The housing is split at A where washers may be inserted to determine the degree of precompression of the cups 22 under the action of bolts 7. The housing is secured to the machine by a threaded spigot 6, and may be rotated and locked in a position in which the arm 2 exerts the required degree of pressure. According to the Provisional Specification pressure on the cups may be adjusted by means acting from the upper end of the housing.
