685,659. Optical objectives. WILD SURVEYING INSTRUMENTS SUPPLY CO., Ltd., H. Sept. 4, 1950 [Sept. 7, 1949], No. 21771/50. Class 97 (i). In a telescope objective consisting of a front positive system A, consisting of two airseparated components, and a rear negative system B, displaceable for focusing and consisting of a collective component and a dispersive component, the second component of the front system being composed of three lenses and the dispersive component of the negative system facing the image plane, the two components of the rear system are separated by an airspace in the form of a meniscus lens strongly convex towards the image and of an axial thickness greater than 0.001f and smaller than 0.03f, the focal length of the system formed by the front system A and the front collective component of the rear system B being smaller than 0.45f when adjusted for an object at infinity, f being the total focal length of the objective. Data are given for one example of the objective shown.
