685,508. Vestibule platforms for vehicles. OFFICINE VIBERTI SOC. PER AZIONI. April 17, 1951 [April 24, 1950], No. 8888/51. Classes 103 (iv) and 108 (i). A rotatable platform for the connecting vestibule between adjacent sections of an articulated vehicle is characterized by the fact that the platform is controlled by one of the two vehicle sections by means of a cable or other flexible means secured to and winding on segments differing in radius so that when the vehicle moves in a curved path the platform performs an angular movement less than and preferably half that occurring between the adjacent sections of the vehicle. The adjacent ends 1 and 2 of the two adjacent sections of the vehicle are articulated at 3, a platform 4 being arranged so that its centre is situated on the axis of articulation of the vehicle sections. Fixedly attached to the section 1 is an arcuate grooved segment 5 receiving and having secured thereto at 51 a cable 8 which travels over two idler rollers 7 carried by pivots attached to the section 2. The ends of the cable 8 are anchored at 61 to a further grooved segment 6 also shaped as a circular arc and attached to the platform 4, the radius of the segment 6 being twice that of the segment 5 so that as the vehicle moves round a curve the platform 4 performs a rotary movement equal to half the angular displacement of the section 1 with respect to the section 2.
