682,171. Piezo-electric crystal holders. MURPHY RADIO, Ltd., and BOURCHIER, E. R. Feb. 9, 1950 [Feb. 10, 1949], No. 3688/49. Class 40 (viii). A mounting for a stack of piezo-electric crystals comprises a metal trough 2 on the solid ends 1 of which are mounted brackets 5 carrying blocks 6, 7. On the four sides of the blocks 6, 7 are mounted insulating strips 8, 10, 11 which define a space in which is located a stack of crystals (not shown) which are held in compression between block 7 and a spring-pressed plate 12. The leads from the crystals are connected to pins 4 passing out through the base. A metal casing 19 with insulating linings such as 21, is hermetically sealed on to the trough 2, and the assembly is enclosed in a plastic box 20.
