679,342. Conical refiners for paper pulp. ALLIBE, A. L. H. April 4. 1951 [April 5, 1950], No. 7804/51. Class 59 Apparatus for refining paper pulp comprises a refining chamber 1 provided with a rotor 4 having vanes which are of conical helical pitch and formed with apertures 5, the vanes having longitudinal blades 6 of progressive inclination and decreasing projection from the axis of the rotor towards the ends of the vanes, and a stator 7 formed with uniformly-spaced apertures 8. The rotor may be shiftable lengthwise in the stator. The chamber has an inlet port 2 and an outlet port 3.
