Class 110(ii) Balancing means for a gyratory piston 1, having a slot a, comprises distributing the piston material in such a way that the piston is balanced about its axis. The inner and outer surfaces, Fig. 1, may be eccentric to each other, or the piston may carry a disc 3, with one or more masses 4, Fig. 2, centrally or the disc may be at one end of the piston. The piston may have a portion cut out or be formed of materials having different specific gravities. Fig. 5 shows a means of absorbing out - of - balance forces through links 20, 21.
